From jeni at charlesvillage.org Mon Aug 7 16:00:30 2006 From: jeni at charlesvillage.org (Jeni Spevak) Date: Mon, 7 Aug 2006 16:00:30 -0400 Subject: [CV Block Leaders] Farewell! Message-ID: <200608071558109.SM01096@OUTREACH> Hello! As today is my last day with the Charles Village Community Benefits District, I wanted to send one last note to bid you a fond farewell. I have truly enjoyed working with you and my year with the CVCBD has been a fantastic experience. Thank you for making it so enjoyable! A number of people have asked me what I'll be doing next. I plan to work for the Volunteer Maryland Americorps program again but I will be working for a different organization. Having worked with off-site volunteers this year, I will be rounding out my volunteer management experience by working with on-site volunteers next year. I will be working for the Beans and Bread Outreach Center, which is a program of St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore. It is a homeless services center, and I will be supervising the volunteers who come in to serve the mid-day meal during the week and occasionally on Saturdays. The goal is to expand the meal service to seven days a week, and I will be assisting with that effort. I am very excited about my next assignment but I will miss working with the Charles Village community! There will be a new Volunteer Maryland Coordinator in my position next year and I know you will all enjoy working with this new person. I will also be training with this person and the Volunteer Maryland program does much to foster personal relationships amongst its members. I am sure that I will get to know next year's coordinator and I will be available to you all as a resource. I still live in the immediate area and I will definitely be around! I will probably see many of you at festivals and neighborhood events. I want to thank you for all the hard work you've put into the program this year. The block leader program is taking root and expanding, and it would not have been possible without the dedication that you have shown to the cause and the community. Thank you!!! If you have any questions or needs before the new coordinator starts in mid-September do not hesitate to contact us! Bob Brinkman will be acting as the bridge between coordinators and he can be reached at 410-235-4411 x13 or bob at charlesvillage.org. He can address many of your needs and questions. If you'd like to drop me a note to say hi please do! Feel free to write me and tell me about the projects on your block- I'd love to hear about them! My home email is jeni_spevak at yahoo.com. This email address will no longer be active after today. Take care and I am sure I'll be seeing you soon!
