Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Days

Material will be collected from City residents on October 26th and 27th at
Poly-Western High

Public Works Director George L. Winfield has announced that residents will
have yet another opportunity to show that they "Believe: In a Cleaner
Baltimore" by ridding their homes of unwanted toxic material. On Saturday,
October 26th and Sunday, October 27th residents may drop off hazardous
household materials at the Poly-Western High School parking lot, located at
Falls Road and Cold Spring Lane. Items will be collected from 9:00 a.m.
until 3:00 p.m. on October 26, and from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on
October 27.

This event is held twice a year, in the spring and fall, and gives residents
an opportunity to properly dispose of such material as bleach, pesticides,
herbicides, car and household batteries, drain cleaner, gasoline, pool
chemicals and other items (such as paint).

Citizens should note that these items must be brought to the Poly-Western
location and will not be collected from their residences. Proof of City
residency is required to drop off material. For additional information or to
find out more about disposal of your household hazardous material, please
contact the Public Works' Office of Recycling at 410-396-5916.
